What is Alpha?
Alpha is a FREE 8-week long series of sessions exploring the meaning of life from the perspective of the Christian faith. Each talk focuses on a different topic around faith and is designed to create conversation in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone! We invite people from all walks of life to learn as well as share your experiences and viewpoints. During the Alpha Course everyone is welcome to share their opinion and understanding of God, Jesus, the purpose of life, the Bible, and more.
What to expect?
Three things you can expect in each session: food, a talk and a good conversation. Every Alpha Course begins with dinner, then a video talk shared by Nicky Gumbel. Shortly after the talk, everyone joins a discussion group to share thoughts on the topic of the talk. There is no obligation to say anything. Simply listening is absolutely OK! It’s a great way to learn from one another.
Silicon Valley Alliance Church also simultaneously provides the Alpha Youth Program for children from kindergarten to age 18. During the program, children will enjoy games, stories, crafts, and fun activities.
